Our ‘Ursuline Fleur d’Lys’ is inspired by a beautiful golden fleur we found one day, just inside St Mary’s Church, built in 1845. Look on the staircase to your left, as you enter. That church adjoins the Old Ursuline Convent. The convent building, originally built in 1745 and then reconstructed in 1752, is the oldest still standing building in the entire Mississippi River Valley. Our Ursuline Fleur de lis pendant reflects some of the oldest architectural history of New Orleans, and this story behind the piece is one to share, with friends.
