Its a tradition here at FDO that we produce a limited edtion run of holiday ornaments, every year.

This handmade Papier-mâché holiday ornament is a sphere three inches in diameter.  It's hollow and is painted a vibrant Christmas red. Then eight  fir-tree-green fleur de lis are hand painted around the surface of the ball-- Each fleur is outlined with gold paint. Finally dozens of tiny gold stars are each handpainted. Fleur de Orleans designs this unique fleur de lis Christmas ornament, and then it is produced by a women's cooperative in India, just for us. The paints are lead free, and the raw material is 100% recycled post-consumer paper. There is a metallic gold thread on the top to hang it from a tree, or around the house. This ornament is sturdy and with reasonable care will be handed down in the family, as a reminder of New Orleans, at Christmas. We have dropped them on the floor, and they do not break easily. The ball is varnished after painting so it will repel small amounts of water. Clean by just wiping with a damp cloth, and drying with a dry cloth. Of course if you drop  Papier-mâché in water and soak it there, it will melt away. In the same light this product is 100% biodegradable.
